Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most iconic characters in video game history. You may be wondering why I’ve chosen to review such a well known game as chances are you’ve already played it? With Sonic being such a huge influence in what got me into gaming, I just had to cover this at some point. I can only hope I do it justice.
Splatterhouse 2 is brutal and gory side-scrolling beat-em-up was much more extreme than what you’d see in most games from around that time. You certainly wouldn’t find this on a Nintendo console! In the early 90’s, this was the closest thing to experiencing those famous horror films of the late 70’s and 80’s.
Rambo III was one of the early Sega Genesis and Mega Drive titles, released back in 1989 for the US and in 1990 for Europe. It’s based fairly loosely on the film of the same name, which was a typical 80s action movie starring the muscle-bound Sylvester Stallone.
The basic story for the game is that aliens have invaded Springfield and it is up to you (Bart) to prevent them from building a “super weapon” by spraying things purple, collecting hats and stealing balloons… Yeah… you heard me right…
