About MyGamerXP

Welcome to MyGamerXP; a website I created to talk about video games (old and new) with awesome people from around the world.

The main purpose of this website is to share my gaming experiences over the years, opinions on the industry, provide honest reviews, and to help great people and causes in the community.

I try to cover everything from retro gaming classics to the latest releases! This also includes indie games, community projects, related fan-made material (such as arts, crafts and video) and events.

MyGamerXP is run entirely on personal funds, ad revenue and donations. This means it’s pretty much impossible to review most new releases at the moment, but the site will grow over time (as it has done) and I have received some fantastic support from friends.

The History of MyGamerXP

MyGamerXP started off as a website under the name of “GXP Blog” back in 2009. It was an outlet for me to talk about games, mostly on the Xbox 360, as it was a great console that I spent a lot of hours playing.

About a year or so later, a lot was going on in my life which meant that I had to put GXP Blog on hold for a while. There were numerous times where I wanted to get back into it, but it wasn’t until January 2014 that I officially re-launched the blog and became more active on twitter once again.

The response was great and exceeded my expectations! I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with several fantastic gamers in the community and began building strong friendships. There were even a few people from the old days who were pleased to see my return and were very welcoming.

Over the years, I have played an enjoyed so many games. Not just on the Xbox, but also older retro classics on the Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis), Super Nintendo, PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and many more. Due to this, I decided on the re-launch to branch out and focus on all aspects of gaming, not limiting myself to one console. After all, the “GXP” stood for “Gaming Experiences”, so why limit the blog to just the Xbox?

GXP Blog went from strength to strength and with the growth of the website and vision for the future, I decided that it needed a better name. Too often people would ask me “What does GXP stand for?”, so I needed to make it more clear. Therefore, on the 6th of November 2014, the website officially changed it’s name to MyGamerXP.
